2015 has been an incredible year for Gantry. It all began in March 27th, with the first beta release of v5 and it just kept getting better ever since.

Today we are releasing version 5.2.6 (that follows 5.2.5 of a few days ago) and together they bring a lot of enhancements and bug fixes.

Worth mentioning are the Dropdown Direction, a new option in the Menu Items which allow to decide which direction the sub-items should open at, whether it's left, right or centered. Tooltips in the admin are now JS based and smarter, you can finally use HTML in the description of your particles as well as create new lines, if necessary. We also now have a new Remove Container setting for Sections Layout which allows to get a Fluid output for sections, skipping the breakpoints/responsive behavior.

These plus a lot more bug fixes and enhancements can be checked out in our v5.2.5 and v5.2.6 changelogs.

Gantry 2015 Year in View

Gantry's community has been growing tremendously. The main channel of communication, Gitter Chat Room, has gone from a few folks, to an outstanding 720 people, and it keeps growing and growing. We are at the moment the 3rd largest Gitter community for PHP projects (reference) with 46.7K messages! That's a lot of talking!

On GitHub we have had over 1,083 issues opened of which 962 have been resolved. Issues are resolved within an average of just 1 day, with pull requests being accepted after just 7 hours. We have had 60 forks and 245 stars (only 🤔).

During the course of the year, we have had 24 releases with an outstanding 264K+ downloads, overall. Very impressive!

None of this would have been possible without the awesome Gantry community, and we thank you for being so incredible!

The Gantry 5 project is still relatively new and there is still so much to do! We have received a lot of feedback and we hope it will keep coming.

The year 2016 is going to bring a lot more to Gantry 5 and we cannot wait for that to happen.

In the meantime, we would like to thank you all and we wish you a great end of the Year.
